BY5 - A hard cover first edition withdrawn ex-library book in very good condition. Stated first printing with no additional printings indicated. A tight, clean, sound copy in black cloth covered boards with gold and red lettering on the spine and a blind stamped graphic on the front with minor overall shelf wear with some tape staining on the outside surfaces of the front and back boards and the front and back free endpapers plus there are the usual library stamps, label, and pocket on the bottom outside paper edges, the copyright page, and the back free endpaper. The dust jacket shows very minor voerall shelf wear with a library label on the spine plus it is still in the original library mylar sleeve plus there is some light fading of the tinting on the top outside paper edges plus there is some very light soiling on the right outside paper edges. A book that examines the attraction of coercive diplomacy, in the form of a mixture of military pressures and diplomatic concessions, as well as an evaluation of the strategy through analyzes the three major crisis, the Laos and Cuban crises of 1961 and 1962 and the bombing of North Vietnam in 1965.
