CE1 - A hard cover first American edition withdrawn ex-library book in good+ condition. A sequence of numbers with the "1" present appear on the copyright page with no additional printings indicated. A tight, clean, sound copy in green cloth covered boards with gold lettering on the spine with minor overall shelf wear with some tape staining on the outside surfaces of the front and back boards and the front and back fixed and free endpapers from where the dust jacket endflaps were taped to the boards plus there are the usual library marks, stamps, and pocket on the spine, the top and bottom outside paper edges, front free endpaper, the title page, and the first page of the table of contents plus there is some very light yellowing on the outside paper edges. The dust jacket shows minor overall shelf wear with some very light fading on the spine plus there is some very, very light edge wear along the top and bottom spine edges plus there is some tape staining on the front and back endflaps from where they were taped to the boards plus the front endflap is price clipped plus it is still in the original library mylar sleeve. Illustrated with black and white photographs. A book that describes the Edwardian's way of living, the changing values of money during the period, the routine of daily life, what they and and how and when their, their clothes, their clubs, their pastimes, and their attitudes toward women and foreigners. The author pays particular attention to the abuses of the period and the freormation of the Navy and the Army.
