BX1 - A hard cover withdrawn ex-library book in good- condition with no dust jacket. A tight, clean, sound copy in dark brown cloth covered boards with gold lettering and graphics on the spine with moderate overall shelf wear plus there are tears to the cloth on either side of the top front and back spine edges (about 0.75" in front & about 0.25" in back) plus there is the usual library catalog lettering in white ink on the spine plus there are the usual library marks, stamps, label, and pocket on the top outside paper edges, inside surfaces of the front and back boards, title page, and back endpaper plus there is some residue from the removal of a pocket and label on the inside surface of the front board and front endpaper plus there is the word "discard" in large letters in green marker on the inside surface of the front board plus there is some very, very light edge wear on the bottom board edges plus there is a very light bump on the front bottom board edge. A biographical and critical guide to creative figures in serious music who had been working in the Americas between 1900 through the late 1940s. The composers discussed are either composers who were born in the United States or who became naturalized citizens, the major composers of Latin America, particularly those whose work was known in the US, and those who fled from Europe and the Nazis in 1933. 265p. SCW05574
