BU1 - A hard cover first edition withdrawn ex-library book in good+ condition. A tight, clean, sound copy in pink paper covered boards quarter bound in burgandy cloth with gold lettering on the spine and gold graphics on the front with minor overall shelf wear there is some fading around the top edges plus there is some tape staining on the outside board surfaces from where the dust jacket was taped down to the boards plus there are the usual library stamps, marks, label, and pocket on the top, bottom, and right outside paper edges (marked out with large black marker), front and back endpapers, title page, and copyright page. The dust jacket shows very minor overall shelf wear plus there is the usual library label (about 1"x2.5") on the front plus it is still in the original library mylar sleeve. BY4 - A hard cover first edition book in very good condition. A tight, clean, sound copy in tan paper covered boards quarter bound in green cloth with gold lettering on the spine plus some light bumping on the bottom right corners plus a small (less than 0.25") of board is showing at the bottom right boart edge plus some light staining on the bottom outside paper edges and bottom back board edge plus there is a gift inscription to the original owner on the front endpaper plus there is some tape staining, probably from a label, on the front endpaper. The dust jacket shows minor overall wear plus some sunning on the spine plus some chipping and edge wear on the bottom spine edge plus some light chipping on the back bottom left corner plus light overall edge wear plus a closed tear (about 0.75") on the back at the top left corner plus some light staining on the back on the bottom edge plus another light stain along the back top edge. The biography of a little-known woman and her extraordinary friendship with Eleanor Roosevelt. Lorena Hickok rose to become one of the most eminent women journalists of the late 1920s and early 1930s. She first met Eleanor Roosevelt as a reporter and their professional relationship turned into an intimate friendship when Mrs. Roosevelt became the First Lady after the 1932 presidential election.
