BH6 - DJ is mylar protected. This is a facsimile reprint of the 1946 edition illustrated by Reginald Marsh. An unread, tight, clean, sound copy in tan cloth covered boards with and red lettering against an embossed blue background on the spine and red lettering against an embossed blue background on the front with pictoral color endpapers with only very, very minor overall shelf wear. The dust jacket shows very minor overall shelf wear with some very, very light edge wear along the top and bottom spine edges and at the right corners. This is the first novel in the author's U.S.A. trilogy, a classic of 20th century American literature. It was originally published in 1937 and it is a portrait of America that is infused with sardonic comedy and pointed social observation. The story is set at the beginning of the 20th century. It is made up of the interconnecting stories of the lives and fortunes of five characters representative of the American experience. With the new, loose, stappled-spine booklet introduction by E. L.
