1 Resurrección de la verdadera Iglesia: Los pobres, lugar teológico de la eclesiología (Resurrection of the True Church: The Poor, Rather than Theological Ecclesiology)
Sobrino, Jon

Presencia Teológica, Editorial Sal Terrae Santander, Spain 1984
Trade Paperback
Very Good, No Jacket as Issued

Spanish Language Edition
8429305866 / 9788429305869

A6 - A Spanish language text 2nd edition trade paperback book in good+ to very good- condition. A tight, clean, sound copy with some light fading on the spine, some very light edge wear to the covers, some light scattered rubbing of the covers and some light tanning of the outside paper edges. Perhaps the metaphor of 'resurrection', applied to the Church, might be shocking or seem too strongly proclaimed because it might seem to imply that the Church has died and now can only said to live in 'La Iglesia de los Pobres (Church of the Poor)'. That is not our intention. But if we take it as a metaphor, then we recognize that firstly 'La Iglesia de los Pobres (Church of the Poor)' provides for a new and vigorous historic Rapture in contrast to other ways in which the Church can continue to exist. Secondly, that any novelty that emerges in the Church, not developing out of 'La Iglesia de los Pobres (Church of the Poor)', places the Church under serious threat of stagnation, irrelevance and even betrayal of its rationale, which could not be further from Jesus' mission. Like it or not, the Church is always in danger of making itself worldly, of adapting itself to the shape and form of a sinful world. And, whether it is acknowledged or not, these processes of secularization have been repeated periodically throughout the history of the Church. But it happens that the Risen Lord, precisely because he is and always will remain the resurrection, periodically returns to the Church throughout its history, in order to restore its life. Jon Sobrino, born in Bilbao in 1938. In 1956 he joined the Jesuits. Professor of philosophy and theology at the Universidad Centroamericana in San Salvador, he has published, among other things, 'Cristología desde América Latina (Christology from Latin America)' Mexico 1976. 5.4"x8.5", 349 páginas (pages).
