A tight, clean, sound copy in monochrome illustrated gray wraps with very minor overall shelf wear with some soiling along the bottom paper edges of pages 140 and 141 plus there is a very light crease on the front cover at the extreme bottom right corner plus there is some very light rubbing of the covers overall. This is a reprint of a novel originally written in 1947 but not previously published. It is about the American waterfront just after World War II and the labor struggle that took place then among longshormen, bosses, communist labor organizers, gangsters, and thugs over the role of Labor in postwar America.
