A book about the charge of the Light Brigade. This is documentation of the follies of a few highly placed officers. The author shows that this story was not an isolated instance of unintelligent leadership. The reality was that English polity allowed and expected the witless sons of highborn men to be able buy high ranks for which they had no qualifications. This ensured that there would be disasters.
