A tight, clean, sound copy in color photograph illustrated dark blue paper covered boards with minor overall shelf wear plus some chipping and edge wear at the corners and top and bottom spine edges. the dust jacket is in good condition with minor overall wear mainly in the form of rubbing on the front back especially along ehe edges plus several (less than 0.25", about 0.25" & less than 0.5") closed tears around the oval cutout on the front plus 2 closed tears at the front endflap top & bottom corners (about 0.25" and 0.75" respectively) plus 1 more (about 0.25") on the back on the top edge near the left corner plus some very light soiling of the outside paper edges. This book has a gift inscription by Karen Carlin, the then First Lady of Kansas and the exective editor. There is also a loose letter of appreciation from her on State of Kansas letterhead thanking the original owner of the book for a photograph of her at the booksigning plus a copy of that photograph. The front and back endpapers are illustrated with an ink drawing of the Kansas Governor's Residence. This book is a comprehensive look at the state's executive residences and the people who have lived in them. It includes reminiscences, biographies, menus, recipes and is illustrated throughout.
