A book about the author's 8,000 mile cruise that begain in Maine in 1986 and ended in April in 1988 in Rio de Janero. It was a voyage planned and used for an assessment of the environmental crisis afflicting the Atlantic coast of North and South America. It is especially notable for its information on how these coasts have changed in the past 500 years. Illustrated scattered with black and white photographs and drawings.
