CG4 - A tight, clean, sound copy with minor overall shelf wear with some light edge wear with scattered fraying of cloth along the top and bottom spine edges, the bottom edge of the front board, and the spine corner of the bottom edge of the back board plus there is a tiny patch of board showing (less than 0.25") at the bottom left corners of the front and back boards, two of about the same size on the bottom edge of the front board, and a larger one 0.75") on the bottom edge of the front board plus the book is shelf cocked plus there are the usual library marks, stamps, and labels on the top and bottom outside paper edges, the front fixed and free endpapers, the inside surface of the front free endpaper, and the copyright page plus there is some light yellowing of the outside paper edges. The dust jacket shows very minor overall shelf wear with some very, very light fading on the spine plus there is some very, very slight edge wear along the top and bottom spine edges and at the right corners plus there is some scattered very, very light creasing. An account of the author's two year stay in a tiny rural village in southern Iraq. In order to help her anthropologist husband gather data she agreed to dress only in the all-enveloping black veils of the women there. Her daily life was spent only with the women of the town.
