An unread, tight, clean, sound copy in green cloth covered boards with gold lettering and a graphic on the spine with no visible signs of wear. The dust jacket shows very minor overall shelf wear with some very, very light scattered rubbing. A notable, comprehensive but compact, heavily illustrated field guide to the cacti of Texas and neighboring states. It is especially notable for its color photo illustrations for which the originals have apparently been lost. This copy includes the University of Texas Press press release announcing the release of the book laid in. This book was condanced from the author's eefinitive and out of print "Cacti of the Suthwest. The state coverage is Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisian. The information includes the scientific and common names, its color picture (most in full bloom), and descriptions indicatiing special features and range of occurance. The introduction provides the distinguishing characteristics of the cactus. There is also an introduction to each genus describing its attributes and taxonomic history.
