BZ4 - A hard cover first edition withdrawn ex-library book in good+ condition. No additional printings are indicated on the copyright page. A tight, clean, sound copy in textured black paper covered boards quarter bound in white cloth with black lettering on the spine with minor overall shelf wear with some very light scattered soiling of the cloth plus there is some tape staining on the outside surfaces of the front and back boards and the front and back free endpapers from where the dust jacket endflaps were taped to the boards plus there is some very, very light surface wear along the bottom edges of the boards plus there are the usual library stamps and labels on the top and bottom outside paper edges, the front and back free endpapers, the title page, and the copyright page plus there is a patch of paper residue and very light glue staining on the back free endpaper from a library pocket plus there is some very light soiling on the outside paper edges. The dust jacket shows minor overall shelf wear with some veyr, very light edge wear along the top spine edge plus there is a patch of light surface damage (about 0.5"x0.75") and a patch of light label staining on the spine near the bottom edge from two library labels plus there is some very light tape staining on the front and back endflaps from where they were taped to the boards plus it is still in the original library mylar sleeve. An occult mystery novel set in the summer of 1914 amid the drugs and cult mysticism of the post-Edwardian underworld. Sherlock Holms and Dr. Watson investigate a theft at Cambridte and become involved in a battle with the evil genius Aleister Crowley for the fate of civilization.
